There was an unofficial trailer online in the early summer, but now the official Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans trailer is loose in cyberspace.

There's nothing much included that we haven't seen before, but, in case you couldn't quite believe it the first time, it's a chance to revisit an off-the-wall Nick Cage, more energised than we've seen him for a long time, rabbiting about Swiss cotton underpants, coffee-table iguanas, dancing souls, and "making money the old fashioned way".

Werner Herzog directs the madness. Cage co-stars with Val Kilmer, Eva Mendez, Xzibit, Vondie Curtis-Hall and Brad Dourif. 

A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
