There are surprise sequels and there are surprise sequels, but the fact that there's a ‘Boondock Saints 2' is, frankly, astonishing. But judging by the trailer's reception at this year's Comic Con, the Saints have a rabidly enthusiastic cult following.

All the major players are back from the original, bar Willem Dafoe, who was off in the woods somewhere. Troy Duffy directs, Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus are the vigilante brothers, and Billy Connolly, who continues to sport his X-Files beard, is back as Il Duce, still with a coat full of arsenal. New arrivals are Clifton Collins Jr., Judd Nelson, Julie Benz and Peter Fonda.

‘Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day' is released in the States on October 30th, and looks much like the first, with the shooty and sweary and the brotherliness and the slow-mo.
