Cardiff’s Chapter Arts Centre in World Record Attempt

5th March 2009

Cardiff’s Chapter Arts Centre will take part in an attempt to smash the World Record for the number of people simultaneously watching a film premier, when they screen climate drama ‘The Age of Stupid’ on Sunday, March 15 at 5.40pm.

Chapter will join 64 fellow cinemas across the United Kingdom in screening the movie, starring Pete Postlethwaite as a man looking back at archive footage of 2008, from the post apocalyptic year of 2055, lamenting humanity’s failure to tackle climate change.

Clocking in at 89 minutes, the independent film was directed by Franny Armstrong who commented “Either we seriously tackle climate change or we wipe out most life on Earth. The future of our species and everything we have ever achieved is at stake, so it’s not a tricky decision, as a filmmaker, to decide which subject to work on.”
