It’s being reported all over the Interweb that French Robo-duo Daft Punk have signed on to score the sequel to Disney’s classic 1982 sci-fi flick Tron.

The film, which will star original lead Jeff Bridges once again, is scheduled for release in 2011, but has got fanboy’s in throes of ecstasy after a Tron 2 teaser trailer was screened at Comic Con.

Daft Punk are no strangers to the sci-fi genre, having released their own future-flick ‘Electrorama’ in 2007.

Not having released an album since 'Human After All' in 2005, we can probably expect a new release sometime soon, followed up by the score for Tron 2.
