I Know You Know to Premiere at London Film Festival

With funding from the Film Agency for Wales, Cardiff-born Kerrigan returned to his South Wales roots to film I Know You Know in Bridgend and Port Talbot late last year.  This was the culmination of a long process to bring a heart-felt and unique drama to the screen.

In it, Robert Carlyle plays Charlie who lives in his own reality-an undercover agent, always on an important mission, always on the move. He is unpredictable, explosive, yet kind hearted and fiercely protective of his 11-year old son, Jamie, who hero-worships his father until he slowly begins to understand that his father is occupying a quite different reality.  This is a poignant portrayal of a unique father-son relationship that powerfully captures that irreversible moment when a boy first sees his hero-father for the man he is, with all his frailties and fears.  The story is told with authenticity, wit, charm, and empathy, and should not be missed.

I Know You Know stars Robert Carlyle, of such richly diverse films as Summer, Trainspotting, The Full Monty and 28 Weeks Later, alongside his young cohort, Arron Fuller, who acquits himself with distinction in this, his debut film

Chief Executive of the Film Agency for Wales, Pauline Burt had this to say:

"As the Chief Executive of a film agency that's focused on nurturing talent, it's a real treat whenever a film arrives at its audience, and never more so than when the filmmaker is as talented as Justin Kerrigan.  Justin's feature, I Know You Know, will premiere at the London Film Festival today (Saturday 25th October).  It is hotly anticipated, given the critical and commercial success of Justin's first feature, Human Traffic."

"From the Film Agency's point of view, this is the type of opportunity we relish having - the chance to play our part in helping a talented Welsh filmmaker to make a film that he is passionate about and share it with audiences throughout Wales, the UK and internationally."

"I Know you Know is one of eight features that the Film Agency for Wales is currently supporting with production finance and we are absolutely delighted to have been involved with the film. The story is original, touching and evocative while showcasing some of the very best Welsh talent."

"I am sure that the film will receive a great reception at the London Film Festival this weekend and look forward to showcasing it in Wales as the Closing Night Film of the inaugural Soundtrack film and music festival, which runs from the 26th-29th November in Cardiff."
