Ricky Gervais' The Invention of Lying, formerly titled The Other Side Of The Truth, has debuted its trailer online here, giving us our first look at Gervais' directing debut (along with co-director and co-writer Matthew Robinson).

The film takes place in a world where no one ever lies, ever, until Ricky Gervais' ordinary guy figures out how, leading him to fame, fortune and women beyond his wildest dreams.

The film has a stellar cast, and this trailer doesn't even cram all of them in (Patrick "it's too late, I've seen everything" Stewart is also in there, as is Jason Bateman). The film's out on October 2, however, so expect more promos between now and then...
