SOUNDTRACK Programme Announced
SOUNDTRACK 2008 PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED
The organisers of SOUNDTRACK: The International Film and Music Festival for Wales are pleased to confirm the event programme for this inaugural festival.
Appearing at SOUNDTRACK will be Oscar winning composer Gabriel Yared, Trainspotting Director Danny Boyle, respected actor Jonathan Pryce and superstar DJ and composer David Holmes.
Both Gabriel Yared and Danny Boyle will hold Master Classes in their respective fields, while David Holmes and Jonathan Pryce will take part in ‘In Conversation' pieces at screenings of their work.
On the performance front, David Holmes will play a special DJ set as headliner of SOUNDTRACK's ‘Scored Stiff' gig at the Point in Cardiff Bay, while Gabriel Yared will perform pieces from his back catalogue in tribute to Anthony Minghella, alongside the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at the Millennium Centre.
In addition to special guest appearances, SOUNDTRACK will be hosting the World Premier of Abrahams Point (staring Mackenzie Crook), the Welsh Premier of Justin Kerrigan's I Know You Know (starring Robert Carlyle) and screening cult classics like Brazil and Trainspotting alongside hot new movies Hunger and Slumdog Millionaire.
There will also be a full slate of free workshops and seminars presented in conjunction with The Welsh Music Foundation, The Musicians Union, Skillset / Screen Academy Wales, RCT 14 - 19 Pathways Project, Just Temptation and Media Education Wales.
Tickets for all screenings, master classes and events will go on sale through the SOUNDTRACK website and Ticketline UK from Monday the 20th of October.
