Terry Jones at classic Python premier in Aberystwyth

4th March 2009

Terry JonesSoundtrack Advocate Terry Jones and his Monty Python co-star Michael Palin will be at the screening of the classic Python film ‘The Life of Brian’ when it screens in Aberystwyth for the first time, following the lifting on the movies ban in the town.

The screening, a charity event, has already sold out as fans rushed to snap up tickets at £25 a pop, to see the film which was banned by the local council on release 30 years ago.

Things are different in the seaside town these days, with the event being hosted by the town mayor Sue Jones-Davies, who bizarrely starred in the film as Brian’s girlfriend ‘Judith Iscariot’.

The film will screen on the 28th of March at Aberystwyth Art Centre, with monies raised from the screening going to The British Heart Foundation. Terry Jones had also chosen to donate cash from the screening to Truthout, a website for ethical news.
